Camping At Bigfoot Lake / Heavy Rain / Jeep XJ
I probabaly wont make a habitat out of this, but I was sent some coordinates of a lake in my home county. I've been contacted by a number of people over the years who have had sightings of possible 'wild men' in the wilderness. I myself have had an unusual experience that I still cannot explain, but despite all of this I don't believe or not believe anything and you regularly hear me joke about it all.
Regardless I have spoken with someone who has had quite a scare from an unexplained humanoid figure that stalked them while they were out on this particular lake. Bigfoot isnt a common term used in this part of the world, but its a name we all know. Troll is probabaly more appropriate where I live.
Anyway I'm going to spend some time here, look around, camp at various spots on the lake, take the boat out and see what I can see. So you will see more episode's around this lake system as its beautiful but there seems to be something else here too.
Strap on your chastity belts and join me on this wet, stormy camp as I endure some torrential conditions but catch some decent food and enjoy the scenery.
Appreciate your support.
Mike

Four Years Of Hard Work / W108 280SE Restoration
Переглядів 2,7 тис.12 годин тому
Back in late 2020 I got a job for a local garage called Asele Bilservice, restoring this 1972 Mercades w108 280SE. It was owned by an American guy who moved to Sweden and brought the car with him. His mother owned this from new so its been in the family for a while and carries a lot of sentimental value to them. The car was in a rough state when I started on it. The engine required rebuilding, ...
Making My Jeeps Rear Camp Storage Look Awesome!
Переглядів 7 тис.21 день тому
My Jeeps rear storage drawer system (AKA Samantha's bed) is getting its final furry touches. The wooden and aluminium frame are working well but looking dung, so hopefully wrapping it in carpet and adding some finishing touches will make it look more OEM and professional. This is the final build on this setup although a different fridge/battery setup will eventually clean up the system more. Th...
Building A Simple DIY Overland Drawer System / JEEP XJ

In this video, I build an overland camping drawer system for the back of my XJ. The idea is, keep it simple, light weight, low profile, versatile, and non equipment specific and incorporate some kind of work surface that's easy to use. My last build was a prototype because it didn't work the first time. This one might end up being a prototype. If it doesn't come out, how I want it to (spoiler, ...
Vehicle Interior Refurb / Leather, Vinyl, Plastic + Sound Deadening

The Jeeps interior is playing on my mind, and I never leave a good sock behind. That was a rhyme. I'm back from a short trip to the UK and I have acquired some original XJ interior. In this video I want to address some moisture issues, refurbish the interior, vinyl wrap some parts, and replace my leather seat covers with the originals from ten years ago. I'm going to go a bit OCD on this one, m...

Deep Snow, Harsh Conditions / Solo Overland Adventure Documentary

This video covers some of my solo adventures in a Documentary Long Format Style Video. I travel round the wilderness of South Lappland in my built Jeep Cherokee XJ, camping, fishing, exploring the winter wonder land. Conditions can get pretty harsh with heavy snow, storms and freezing temperatures. Preparations sometimes fail, but its all apart of the journey. Thanks for watching. 00:00:00 Intr...
Snow Wheeling / Camping With The Legendary Jeep XJ

This Jeep Camp was my favorite this winter I think. It was the spring equinox, clear skys, northern lights and a really beautiful location. Its hard to find open spots like this this late in the winter, as the snow is very high. The road up to this view point wasn't too challenging although I chickened out of the first road I attempted as It was very remote and it started to look sketchy. I hav...
Making Some DIY Parts For My Adventure Jeep
Переглядів 6 тис.3 місяці тому
I'm finishing off some fabrication details on the Jeep Cherokee XJ in the form of a snorkel bracket and rear folding step. The NP231 is also in need of some inspection as its making a growl in 4H under acceleration. More importantly though these projects are some of the last projects on the Diesel XJ for a while as future workshop episodes will mostly be on the 1990 4.0 Renix. I'm keen to get t...
SUPER EASY Touchless Car Wash With A Perfect Finish

I've been asked so many times about how I wash the Jeep and keep it so clean. I don't think its a secret but I use what's called a brushless cleaner meaning no sponge, bucket or touching it in any way (unless you choose to hand dry). I don't do this because I'm worried about paint scratches, I just do it because its fast and easy and the Jeep comes out looking showroom clean. It costs more to u...
Epic Drive And Chill Adventure / Winter Jeep Camp

I'm back out for a few days solo winter camping in the Jeep Cherokee XJ overland build in my roof top tent. The snow is pretty wet and dense at this time of year, plus its around 3 feet high, which is a bit too much for my 35 inch tires. I found a semi ploughed track that must have been used a couple of weeks ago. The snow wasn't deep and it was a nice run into the wilderness where I could get ...
Building A Front Skid / Dana 30 Spider Gear Replacement / Jeep XJ

The Jeep Cherokee XJ has taken some damage on the last trip. The extent of it I discover in this video and its more than I expected. Jeep Camping Gone Wrong In Winter!

This winter Jeep camp was meant to be a couple of nights and a few days solo snow wheeling in deep snow and soaking up some time in the wilderness. Thank you Mike for another great video!!! This one I was really interested in watching, Mostly because of Bigfoot LOL But really, I'm impressed with the drawer system that you have built, and I'm hoping that you don't have a patient on it yet LOL because I'm going to build one for my XJ after I get done with this 6.0 LS swap. I just received the wiring harness and ECM so that's my project for tomorrow morning. Thanks again! Like always it's good to see you!!

If you ever want to come hunting in the West im sure alot of us would offer some private areas but, it's very easy and is open for everyone to enjoy, lots of public area and tags are usually 50$ and over the counter. Also guns are pennies here so id borrow one or buy a second hand one and spend the money to stay longer. Thank you for the xj info over the years! I owe you one!

Go back I wanna see Bigfoots slong! I know what you mean about that gut feeling, I once went to carp fish an old abandoned lake, I found the fish managed to get my rods out without disturbing them. I felt confident of a capture through the night or at dawn, then at dusk, the feeling came over me. For no good reason I left not because I was scared I just felt unwelcome and like should not have been there. I wasn’t poaching, I had permission to be there, it just had a very strange atmosphere. I’ve never felt it since or before then.

Drawer system looking good! I considered those slides when fitting out my E70 but it wouldnt work with my setup, went with a lightweight birch ply module with euro crates. I also fitted an AGM hybrid leisure battery under the rear seats, charges direct from alternator and isolated by a simple rotary swwitch. Having a smart alternator, i debated over ways of charging but decided to keep it simple, always best in my opinion. You mentioned bears, do you take any deterrents with you? I know sprays are illegal there.

It could not be a bad idea to spend some energy from the battery in warmth for the battery in -20 C situations, actually, my electric vehicle batteries are warmed a bit in winter for their performance when starting up. You went straight for the sausages, good lord, lucky ¨he¨ didn't like your sausage, but that belt may have saved you and the doll as well. cheers!

The chastity belt is rusted on forever after that rain! I did consider battery blankets and warmers but just went for something more winter suited along with a smart charger setup. It should give me around 180ah. My main thing was to get a good DC DC charger and MPPT controller, the batteries can always be changed in the years to come. Thanks for watching and for the comment!

We don't have family or babysitters where we live so that's just the reality of life.

Really like your videos man! I'm building my XJ to get it working again, and hopefully take my wife and dogs on a field trip like that. Quick question: how do you feel about your personal safety on those trips? Regarding wildlife and humans. I believe you're packing some self defense utility device?

    • @WorkshoptoWilderness
      @WorkshoptoWilderness 4 дні тому

Appreciate you watching and glad you like them. Ah nice, sounds like a good reason to get the XJ field ready again. I don't have much in the way of self-defense. I can't carry a firearm here unless I obtain a hunting licence, and I'm hunting. My firearms licence is in the uk, and soon to expire, unfortunately. I carry a kind of self-defense spray that you can use on bears and humans if you must. I don't normally feel too vulnerable out here, but there have been some odd encounters and places that I've got bad vibes from and bailed.
